A construction worker named Abul Kashem (45) died due to wall collapse in Chandpur Hajiganj Upazila. The incident took place at Hamidia Jute Mill in Toragarh village under Ward no. 7 of Hajiganj Municipality on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kalu Bari of Rasulpur Chaumuhani village in Char Fashion Upazila of Bhola. Upon receiving the news, the police brought the body to the police station.
Fellow worker Riyad Hossain said they had been demolishing the old jute mill godown since morning. Abul Kashem was crushed under the wall at around 5:30 pm and died on the spot.
Later, Hajiganj Police Inspector (Investigation) Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil and Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Aziz visited the spot.
Hajiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Harunur Rashid said the body was sent to Chandpur Morgue for autopsy. Later action will be taken as per law.
