The people are going to be the victims of extreme misery while moving in this way. Heavy rains lashed Chandpur city and surrounding areas till Tuesday morning.

Due to the lack of adequate drainage system in the city, the main roads and alleys of the neighborhood are submerged under water for hours. This is ruining the pitch-casting of the road. Numerous small and big holes are being created. Drivers and pedestrians are getting into accidents as a result of potholes in the road.

According to the city dwellers, most of the areas of Chandpur city have been inundated for several years due to overflowing of reservoirs, ponds, rivers and reservoirs. Waterlogging is taking place due to lack of adequate drainage system and occupation of small and big water bodies including Padma-Meghna-Dakatia river flowing near the city. With the increase in population, houses have been built by filling the reservoirs.

In particular, the role of the Dakatiya canals in retaining the city’s rainwater and maintaining the ecological balance was immense. Currently, rain water is blocked due to canal filling and drainage problems. Due to which waterlogging is seen in different parts of the city due to low rainfall.
