Wolverhampton won at Arsenal after 41 years

After 41 years, Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. won at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side lost 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.

Arsenal’s David Luiz and Wolverhampton’s Raúl Jiménez collided head-on in the fifth minute of the match. Both were severely injured. After initial treatment, David Luiz continued to play with a bandage on his head, but Raúl Jiménez had to leave the field on a stretcher. The game resumed after being stopped for about 10 minutes.

Wolverhampton took the lead in the 27th minute through Pedro Neto’s goal.

Arsenal, however, did not take the time to return to time. Three minutes later, Gabriel Magales jumped from the cross of compatriot Willian and scored with a bullet head.

The Wolves went ahead again in the 42nd minute.

Arsenal could not repay the goal after many attempts after the break. In the end, Arsenal left the field with a 2-1 goal defeat. As a result, Wolverhampton defeat Arsenal for the first time since 1979 with a win.

Wolverhampton have risen to number seven on the points table with this win. And Arsenal, who have lost points in three games in a row, are in eighth place right after them.
