A woman died while her burqa tangled with a motorbike’s wheel in Hajiganj of Chandpur. The accident took place on Monday, June 06 in the morning on Taralia Kankairatala Road in Gandharvyapur North Union No. 9 of Hajiganj Upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sathi Akhter, 30, wife of Alamgir Hossain of Maligaon village. She is a resident of West Raj Bari of that village.
Witness Tofail Ahmed said Sathi was going to the local Waruk Bazaar with a relative named Parvez to withdraw money from the bank. On the way, her burqa tangled with a motorbike’s wheel and she fell on the road. She died on the spot with serious injuries.
Hajiganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ibrahim Khalil said, “Police have been sent to the spot after knowing about the accident. Police are investigating the matter.”
