A student named Tutul Hasan Nayan (17) drowned while going for a picnic. The incident took place in Chandpur on Thursday.
Nayan is a 10th grade class student of Navaran School and College, Demra, Dhaka.
His father Abdul Mannan worked as a police constable in Dhaka Tejgaon police station.
It is learned that 135 students of Navarun School and College intended to come for a picnic at Mohanpur tourist center on the banks of river Meghna.
At about half past one, some students started swimming in the river. After swimming, everyone went ashore, but Nayan did not rise. After searching several moments, the friends did not find him and informed the nearby Mohanpur Naval Police.
Later divers came and rescued Nayan from the river. At this time he meant North Upazila Health Complex. A moment later, the on duty doctor Mohammad Hasibul Islam declared him dead.
Shahriar Nazim Munna, a classmate, said it was difficult to believe that he would die in this way.
Navaran School and College headmaster Azizul Haque said, in fact we came to enjoy. But in this case we are very shocked.
