The death toll from the virus stood at 214. At the same time, another 636 people have been identified as infected with corona. As a result, the number of people infected with this deadly virus has increased to 13,770.
This information was given in the regular health bulletin on coronavirus of the health department on Saturday (May 9) at noon by the additional director general (administration) of the department, Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana.
She said that in the last 24 hours, another 5,247 samples were collected for the detection of coronavirus. Five thousand and 465 samples were tested by combining some of the previous ones. A total of one lakh and 16 thousand 919 samples were tested in the country. The new sample tested corona virus in the bodies of another 636 people. A total of 13,770 people have been affected in the country. Eight more died among the victims. As a result, the death toll stood at 214. And in the last 24 hours, 313 more people have recovered. Total 2,414 people returned home healthy.
The health department said in a bulletin on Friday (May 8th) that seven people had died in Corona in the past 24 hours. A total of 709 people have been identified as infected in 5,941 sample tests. Although the number of deaths has increased in the last 24 hours as compared to the previous 24 hours, the number of identified patients has decreased.
Saturday’s bulletin Nasima said those who died were all men; Two people are over seventy, two people over sixty, one over fifty, two people are over forty and one over thirty.
She said that considering the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the country, the recovery rate so far is 91.8 percent and the death rate is 8.2 percent. Considering the total number of patients identified, the mortality rate is 1.5 percent and the recovery rate is 17.5 percent.
The bulletin urges everyone to follow the guidelines of the Department of Health and the World Health Organization to avoid the risk of coronavirus infection.
Although it was first identified in Wuhan, China, last December, the whole world is now infected with the coronavirus. Other regions of the world including Europe-America-Asia are suffering severely. The number of people infected with this virus is over 4 million worldwide. The death toll has exceeded three and a quarter lakh. However, about 14 lakh patients have already recovered.
