According to the sophisticated design of the country, 9 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers are being constructed in 8 upazilas in Chandpur district.
Executive Engineer Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Chandpur Public Works Department said this information.
The district headquarters is being constructed on public land, Maitlab North, Hajiganj, Kachua & Highchair, donated by local social workers and the rest is on acquired land. Expenditure has been fixed at Tk 12 crore to 15 crore.
According to the information received, four model mosques and 5 Islamic mosques are being constructed at the government’s site on the south side adjacent to the Islamic Culture Center Municipal Park.
The Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center at Chandpur Sadar is being constructed on the ground floor of the District Family Planning and District Statistics Office on the west side of the Chandpur-Raipur highway on the 4 th floor adjacent to the District Family Planning and District Statistics Office.
Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center are being constructed on donated land adjacent to Changchar Municipal Meeting on the 4th floor. It was first started in Chandpur. The Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center in the south of Matlab are being constructed on the ground occupied by the site of the area called Nabaklas.
Hajiganj Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center are being constructed on donated land along West Kazi’s Gao Kachua road on the 4th floor. Model mosque and Islamic cultural center of Shahrashti is being built on this floor by itself. However, the tender process will be completed as soon as the final phase is finalized.
The Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center of Faridganj is being constructed on adjoining acquired land adjacent to the school ground of Upazila Boundary on the 4th floor.
The Highmachar Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center are being constructed on the 4 floor of the donated land in front of the house of the Highchair Upazila Chairman Noor Hossain Patwari.
The Kachua Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center are being built on donated land on the east side of Kachua Polytechnic Institute on the 4th floor.
Contextually, this is one of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special consideration and priority projects. Under the project ‘Construction of 3 Model Mosques and Islamic Cultural Center in Partilaz’, there are 4 Model Mosques and Islamic Cultural Center in 4 Upazilas of Chandpur district and 4 in District Upazila.
With the financing of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the overall management of the Chandpur Public Works Department and the national design, the process of construction of these three-storey model mosques and Islamic culture centers in the 4-storey bavan and upazila of the district has already begun. At the local level, one or more socialist persons is the land issuer. Chandpur has donated land to the upazilas.
The work began in May of the fiscal year 2019 , which is expected to be completed by December 2021. Meanwhile, three construction works have been given. Chandpur district headquarters said the complexity of shifting the location has been resolved.
Executive Engineer of the Chandpur Public Works Department Md. Mahbubur Rahman said , “This project is an special consideration of the Prime Minister. Work on this project is being monitored continuously in Chandpur. Every week, progress reports are to be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office. When the Model Mosque and Islamic Culture Centers of Chandpur were launched, Model Mosque and Islamic Culture Centers would be the focus of all the works of Efa, rituals for resolving all issues of Hajj .’
