Bengali is the most commonly spoken language in the UK after English. That means ‘Bangla’ is recognized as the second most relevant language in London.Polish and Turkish were commonplace after Bengal.
A company called ‘city Lit’ – published the survey.According to the survey in London 1,65,311 residents speak the language in Bengali, Polish and Turkish.
It has also been reported that, from Bangladesh and India 71,609 people living in London speak mainly Bangla.
The study also found that 3,11,210 London residents speak a foreign language at home.However, only three per cent of British people can speak Bengali fluently.
The study was conducted to highlight and celebrate London’s cultural diversity as well as encourage residents to interact with each other.
