Thousands of protesters have gathered in Jerusalem to demand the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The incident came a day after lockdown were tightened across the country to prevent coronavirus infections.
Protests by car have caused long traffic jam in various parts of Israel. Protests have also taken place at various bridges and junctions across the country.
Protests have also taken place in Tel Aviv and Caesarea. Organizers say more than 16,000 people have protest to the streets.
Meanwhile, the second phase of lockdown has been going on in Israel since September 18. Last Friday the lockdown was tightened again. There have also been protests outside Netanyahu’s office. One of the protesters was 48-year-old Adi. He said the reason for coming here was that they were trying to suppress the protests.
He added that the people had gathered here not to miss the last chance to liberate and democratize Israel. He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture, and that his confession had been obtained through torture.
However, there is no provision for the resignation of any prime minister in Israel.
Protesters claim the government has shut down everything in the lockdown, without any financial support. That is why we are protesting.
