All commuter-mail-express-local trains will run by September 16.Bangladesh Railway has decided to operate all commuter, mail, express and local trains on different routes in three phases by September 16.
Tuesday (September 08) Bangladesh Railway Deputy Director (Traffic Transportation) said. This has been informed in a circular signed by Khairul Kabir.
In the first phase, the trains that will run from September 10 are: Karnafuli Express on Chittagong-Dhaka-Chittagong route, Titas commuter on Akhaura-Dhaka-Brahmanbaria-Dhaka-Akhaura route, Turag commuter on Dhaka-Joydevpur-Dhaka route, Narayang on Ruga-Narayang at Turag commuter. .
The second phase will run from September 13: Jalalabad Express on Chittagong-Sylhet-Chittagong route, Surma Mail on Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route, Dhaka / Noakhali Express on Noakhali-Dhaka-Noakhali route, Mymensingh Express on Chittagong-Bangabandhu Bridge East-Chittagong route. Dewanganj Bazar-Dhaka route Bhawal Express, Mymensingh-Bangabandhu Bridge East -Mymensingh route Dhaleshwari Express, Chandpur-Laksam-Chandpur route Chandpur commuter, Noakhali-Laksam-Noakhali route Noakhali commuter.
In the third phase, the trains that will run from September 16 are: Nazirhat Commuter on Chittagong-Nazirhat-Chittagong route, local train on Chittagong-Dohazari-Chittagong route, local train on Mohanganj-Mymensingh-Mohanganj route, Jharia Jhanjail-Mymensingh-Jharia Jhanjail route. Santahar-Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Station-Santahar Route North Bengal Mail, Parbatipur-Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Station Parbatipur Route Kanchan Commuter, Lalmonirhat-Biral-Lalmonirhat Route Dinajpur Commuter Mail, Rajbari Express on Rajbari-Bhanga-Rajbari route, Bhatiapara Express on Rajbari-Bhatiapara-Rajbari route.
The statement further said that in order to ensure the social and physical distance of the passengers, 50 percent of the coach’s capacity has to be sold for the tickets.
Meanwhile, eight pairs of intercity trains were launched in the first phase on May 31. In the second phase on June 03, 11 more intercity trains were added. However, after a while, two pairs of trains were stopped due to passenger crisis. Then in the third phase on 16th August 13 more pairs of trains were launched. 19 pairs of trains have been introduced in the fourth phase from August 27 and last 05 September 19 more pairs of trains have been added to the train fleet.
At present, a total of 67 pairs, i.e. 134 passenger trains are running on different routes.
