Death of 1,070 people in a week due to corona symptoms.The Bangladesh Peace Observatory (BPO), a project of the Center for Genocide Studies (CGS) at the University of Dhaka (DU), has reported that 1,070 people have died in a week (June 07 to June 13) due to coronavirus (Covid-19) symptoms.

This information was published in the regular weekly highlights based on the information received from various media outlets about the overall situation of the country at the time of coronavirus infection on Friday, june 19.

According to the report, this number of people died from June 07 to June 13. The highest number of 310 people died in Chittagong division. Dhaka division is in the second position. 270 people died here. At least 33 people died in Mymensingh division. Which is 179 more than last week.

The report further states that there have been 164 protests and demonstrations in the last one week. Of these, 43 percent protested against the payment of salaries and allowances, 31 percent against relief and food aid, 14 percent against lockdown rules, housing and tuition fees, 7 percent against irregularities in the distribution of relief and 5 percent against bus fare hikes.

Besides, 541 people were injured and 13 people were killed in 126 cases related to coronavirus. There have been 196 incidents of social deviation. 87 people have been arrested for spreading 84 rumors on various issues.
