A magnitude 6.3 earthquake has shaken the Philippines. The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued.
Damage and aftershocks are expected in the quake on Sunday, February 7.
The GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences had earlier said the quake had a magnitude of 6 and a depth of 10 km.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology later said they had identified the quake at a depth of 15 kilometers and that it was tectonic.
The Philippines, a Southeast Asian country, is located in the active Pacific Ring of Fire. Earthquakes occur regularly in the country.
