Health worker infected with the coronavirus epidemic exceeded 8,000

The number of doctors, nurses and other health workers infected with the coronavirus epidemic has exceeded 8,000 across the country, including the capital.

As of Wednesday (October 14) a total of 8,056 people, including 2,839 doctors, 1,958 nurses and 3,261 other health workers, have been infected across the country.

So far, 100 people, including 97 MBBS and two dentists, have died of coronavirus symptoms.

The highest number of victims is in Dhaka. So far, 617 doctors, 61 nurses and 444 other health workers have been infected with the coronavirus in the capital.

This information has been given in a press release signed by Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin & Secretary General Ihteshamul Haque Haque Chowdhury on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 16 more people have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours across the country. Among them 13 are men and 3 are women. 15 people died at the hospital and one died at home. The death toll from the virus rose to 5,593.

In the last 24 hours, 14,169 samples were collected and 14,411 samples were tested in 109 laboratories to detect coronavirus. At the same time, another 1,684 new cases of coronavirus have been identified.
