25 people killed in Vietnam

25 people killed in Vietnam due to typhoon. Vietnam has deployed hundreds of troops and heavy equipment to rescue those missing in a landslide caused by torrential rains after Typhoon Molav hit. At least 25 people have been killed so far.

The strongest typhoon in the country has hit in decades. At least 13 people were killed when the storm hit isolated areas in the central province of Quang on Wednesday. The bodies of 12 fishermen have also been recovered.

At least 40 people are still missing, Reuters reported. The Molav riots have damaged 56,000 homes and left millions without power.

Official data say rescue efforts are being hampered by bad weather in the final stages of the storm.

Local media reported that 12 fishermen were killed in the sea. In a statement, Deputy Prime Minister Trin Dinh Dung said, “We can only predict the direction of the storm and the amount of rain.” But I can’t say when the landslide will happen.

He added that the road was covered with thick mud and heavy rain. It is still raining profusely. But rescue operations are being carried out quickly.

The bodies of 12 fishermen were recovered on Thursday after a boat capsized two days ago while returning to shore, state television reported. Two boats have been deployed to find them. 14 people are still missing.

Vietnam has been hit by a series of storms, heavy rains and floods since October. It has affected millions of people.

Molav has weakened since it landed on Wednesday and turned into a tropical depression. The storm is expected to make landfall in Laos on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Vietnam Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected to continue in central Vietnam until Saturday, with up to 700 mm of rainfall expected.
