Player’s were not allowed to practice at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. For now, Mushfiqur has been asked to practice at home.Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim and other senior cricketers wanted to practice at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. But the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) rejected the application due to Covid-19.
According to the BCB, the process of sterilizing the Mirpur Stadium has not been completed. That is why practice is not possible.
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said, ‘Mushfiqur contacted us personally and asked to start practicing. But we told him it was still not safe to do so. He should practice at home. Training is important, but more important than that is keeping the cricketers healthy.’
He added, ‘A few more cricketers wanted to know if they could start training personally. Our statement is the same for everyone. We are working to disinfect our infrastructure. And that work is not over yet. We are keeping an eye on the overall situation. We are not coming to a hasty conclusion. Many countries are starting sports. We will do the same in the coming days. But I can’t give a specific date right now.’
