Mobile court operation to prevent Jatka killing in Chandpur. Chandpur District Administration, Fisheries Department, Naval Police, Coast Guard, Chandpur Sadar Fisheries Department, Haimchar Fisheries Department, Matlab North and South Fisheries Department have conducted 11 separate raids and 3 mobile courts in the last 24 hours.
According to a report from the Chandpur District Fisheries Department’s monitoring ring at around 5 pm on March 11, the operation is being conducted under the Jatka program.
98 kg of jatka and 2 lakh 26 thousand meters of current net have been seized. Its current value is 45 lakh 20 lakh taka. The jatka have been distributed to local orphanages. In addition, 11 charghera nets have been seized.
