The Prime Minister paid homage to the Father of the Nation.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his 45th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day.
The Prime Minister paid her respects by laying a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 No. at around 5:30 am today (August 15).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, stood in silence for a while paying homage to Bangabandhu. At that time, a smart contingent of the armed forces saluted her. A sad tune was played on the bugle. Then a special prayer was offered on 15 August seeking forgiveness and peace of the souls of the martyrs. After paying their respects, the Prime Minister went inside the Banga Bhaban and stayed for some time. At that time daughter Saima Wazed Hossain Putul was with the Prime Minister.
After the formalities at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the Banani Cemetery in the capital. There she paid homage to the martyrs on August 15, including her mother Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, brothers Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Russell.
