Rain forecast across country today

Rain is forecast across the country today as the monsoon winds are fairly active. It may rain in many places of four divisions, some parts of three divisions and one or two places in one division. Besides, river ports in 16 areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1 as there is a possibility of storm in 16 areas.

The Meteorological Department said this on Sunday (September 13) morning.

In the next 24 hours forecast from 9:00 am, the meteorological office said that the monsoon axis extends to Assam through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and northern Bangladesh. An extension of it extends to the North Bay. The monsoon is moderately active over Bangladesh and weak over the North Bay. As a result, light to moderate rain / thundershowers with temporary gusts may occur in many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, some parts of Dhaka, Barisal and Chattogram divisions and a couple of places in Khulna division. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the northern part of the country.

Day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged, the meteorological office said. They say that in the next three days, the tendency of rain / thunderstorms in the country may increase.

On the other hand, the inland river port forecast of the country from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm today said, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet region. From the south / south-east, a temporary gust of wind with rain / thunderstorm at a speed of 45 to 60 kmph may blow. River ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
