Coronavirus vaccine made by the Chinese company Sinovac has been approved for emergency use in Bangladesh by the Department of Drug Administration. The approval was granted following an application by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited last Thursday. The local agent for the vaccine is Incepta Pharmaceuticals.
Major General Mahbubur Rahman, Director General of the Department of Drug Administration, confirmed this information on Sunday, june 06.
On June 01, the World Health Organization (WHO) approved the emergency use of the Sinovac vaccine. The vaccine has already been approved in 22 countries. People over the age of 18 should take two doses of Sinovac vaccine. These two doses should be given at two to four week intervals. The vaccine should be stored at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Mahbubur Rahman said, “As a result of this approval, there are no more barriers to the import and use of vaccines. It was approved for use in the country as the fifth vaccine.
Earlier, vaccines for Astrageneca, Sputnik, Sinopharm and Pfizer were approved by the Department of Drug Administration.
