The Application For e-passport In 3 Days Is 2,000

The application for e-passport in 3 days is 2,000.Within 3 days of opening the e-passport, two thousand people have applied online. Bangladesh Immigration and Passport Department sources confirmed this things. Applicants for the e-passport are being given an appointment after submitting biometric information periodically after 12-15 days. On January 22, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina submitted two thousand petitions on the 23rd, 24th and 26th of January, the next three days after the inauguration of the e-passport.

According to the Department, the e-passport will have a total of 38 security features which are time-consuming than the MRP collected. Verifying that it will take 15 minutes for the e-passport to collect the biometric information of the applicant. Accordingly, e-passport online software is automatically scheduling appointments according to hours and booths.

An applicant is receiving an appointment within 12-5 days of the application. The department has said that counting will begin on the scheduled day (3 days, 7 days, 21 days) after giving the biometric. That is, in the process, the ordinary e-passport applicant will get a passport delayed by 12-15 days rather than the scheduled time.

Major General Sakil Ahmed, director general of the Bangladesh Immigration and Passport Department, told that the entire application process is currently online. The applicant will have to come to the department for the second step. Many people, without knowing this and applying online, are arriving at the department and scrutinizing for e-passports. Being confused that there is no line in the booths of e-passport. However, we have been able to clearly convey our message to many. Already, two thousand e-passport applications have been received online in three days.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated e-passport activities in Bangladesh on January 22 this year. On this day, the President and the Prime Minister accepted the passport. From Thursday, January 23, Dhaka city residents can apply online for e-passport. Their applications are being received at Agargaon, Jatrabari, Uttara, Secretariat and Cantonment in the capital.

The latest e-passport will have an embedded electronic microprocessor chip (like a mobile memory card). This microprocessor chip will have a total of 38 types of security features, including biographical and biometric (picture, fingerprint and eye iris) information of the passport holder. Citizens of 119 countries of the world use e-passports.

Looking at e-passport books will be very much like running machine readable passports (MRPs). However, if the passport holder has information on the first two pages of MRP, the second page of the e-passport will be like a polymer card (debit / credit / ATM card duplicate). The card will contain various basic information including name, address, date of birth of the passport carrier. There will also be a micro chip inside the card, where all important and sensitive information and databases of the passport carrier are stored (but not invisible). The database will contain three types of passport holder images, 10 fingerprints and eye iris.

General fee for 5-year e-passport is taka 3500, emergency fee of taka 5500 . Besides, the general fee for 5-page five-year e-passport is taka 7500 .

In case of a new passport, passport will be available in three days in case of emergency, seven days in emergency and 20 days in case of general passport application. However, in case of re-issue of old or expired passport, urgent passport will be given in two days, emergency passport three days and general passport within seven days.

After applying online for e-passport, photocopy of National Identity Card (NID) or Birth Certificate should be taken on the day of appointment.

Also, the minor (less than 18 years) applicant, who does not have a national identity card, must specify his / her parent’s national ID number.

In case of conversion of MRP to e-passport, photocopy of latest passport must also be submitted.
