Ukrainian Prime Minister Resigned

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksi Honchuk has resigned following an audio leak of criticism over the president’s economic burdens. He confirmed in a post on Facebook on social media that he had submitted his resignation letter to the country’s president on Friday.
In a leaked audio, Prime Minister Oleksandy can be heard criticizing President Vladimir Zelinsky over Ukraine’s economic crisis. In the audio, he said that the president of the country does not understand anything about the economy.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Oleksai said, “I have written a resignation letter and handed it over to the president to clear any doubts about our respect and trust in the president.

However, he claimed the leaked audio was fake. The Ukrainian Prime Minister said that my party and I do not respect the President; Fake audio has been created to give such an idea. This audio is fake. I was appointed to the office of the President to implement the program.

President Vladimir Zelenesky’s office says they have received the prime minister’s resignation. A decision will be made later.

The audio of the Ukrainian Prime Minister leaked this week. The Prime Minister was claimed to have an audio record of an informal meeting with senior officials and ministers of the National Bank last December.

Local media reported that officials and ministers who attended that December meeting discussed the economic development of the country during President Volodymyr Zelinsky’s tenure. Last year, Vladimir Zalensky was replaced by a former comedy star as a newcomer to the country’s elections.

In the audio, Honchuk is heard talking about the economy of the country, explaining the economic situation is quite common. Because President Zalensky doesn’t understand the economy at all. (AFP, Al Jazeera)
