BGB-BSF border conference is coming to an end today

The BGB-BSF border conference is coming to an end today.The Director General level border conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Border Security Force (BSF) of India will end on Saturday.

The conference officially started at the BGB headquarters last Thursday morning. BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Safinul Islam is leading a 13-member delegation to the conference. The team includes senior BGB officials as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Joint River Commission and the Department of Land Records and Survey.

On the other hand, BSF Director General Rakesh Asthana is leading a six-member delegation from India.

This year’s conference is discussing a number of issues including killing or injuring unarmed Bangladeshi at the border, drug smuggling in Bangladesh, smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives, and protection of border-river banks.
