‘Election won’t wait for anyone’

The election will not depend on anyone. Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said the election would be held on time as per the constitution.

Obaidul Quader said this at a discussion meeting organized by Awami League on the occasion of Jail Murder Day on Wednesday, November 3. The meeting was held at the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue.

The general secretary of the Awami League said in the discussion meeting, it is up to them whether the BNP will take part in the election or not. According to the constitution, the next election will be held on time. Time and tide wait for none. The election will not wait for anyone. It is not a matter of fact whether the BNP came to the polls or not.

He said the caretaker government had gone to the museum following the High Court verdict. He said the caretaker government would not return.

Addressing the BNP secretary-general, the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said, “No matter how much Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir calls for a caretaker government. The caretaker government has gone to the museum following a High Court ruling. It will never come back.

Elections will be held in the same way as in other democratic worlds.
