Considering the critical illness of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, the party today postponed its previously declared nationwide programme, titled ‘Bijoyer Mashe Bijoy Moshal Road Show’, marking the victory against Pakistan army in 1971.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at a press conference at BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.
He said,”The programme that we had announced for the month of December — from Dec 1 to 16BNP postpones ‘Victory Month’ celebration.

He said, “The programme that we had announced for the month of December from 1 to 16 Dec has been postponed considering Begum Zia’s illness.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Nov 23 after developing breathing difficulties due to a lung infection. Subsequently, she developed pneumonia. She also has pre-existing chronic conditions, including kidney, liver, arthritis and diabetics.
Prior to this, BNP Sec. General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced a month-long programme for the “Month of Victory” at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan yesterday evening.
