District intelligence officer in search of illegal property. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is hiring intelligence officers in the district to search the illegal properties of the godfathers and bring them under the law. Chairman of the company Iqbal Mahmud said. He said this after answering a question to journalists at a function at the headquarters of the organization on Thursday, February 6th.
ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmud said no criminal would be exempted. It was decided to appoint 22 intelligence officers at the ACC’s 22 Integrated District Offices (Sajeka) to implement the decision. These intelligence officers will work in every district under his office. Those who have emerged as the godfathers of those involved in various crimes including drug trade, terrorism, land grabbing, bribery and corruption, will collect information about their known income and submit it to the head office of the Commission. The Commission will scrutinize those reports and bring the perpetrators under the law.
Responding to reporters’ questions, the ACC chairman said, “We have the capability.” We strive to increase our capacity. But I personally believe that a strong commitment to work is a source of competence. Today’s commission meeting was attended by a full commission, secretaries and directors. We all have a strong commitment against corruption. It is through teamwork that we are trying to maximize our potential. ‘
Responding to another question, Iqbal Mahmud said that efforts were made to bring back those who were smuggling government money abroad through interpol in the legal process. The Commission decided yesterday on the issue. Everybody who illegally smuggled money into the bank or government, living a luxurious life abroad, must face trial for crime.
Responding to reporters’ questions, the ACC chairman said, “We are getting some information from countries around us, including Singapore. Already some illegal money has been seized with the help of the Hong Kong court in the commission’s efforts. It is a combination of a national and international process. ”He added,“ Various studies show that the most money laundering occurs through trade-based money laundering. These issues were discussed in detail at the ACC office yesterday with the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue. We have agreed in principle that effective measures will be taken to prevent such crimes in the procedural process. ”
ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmud inaugurated a day care center for the children of officers and employees of ACC headquarters. Two commissioners of the company, AFM Aminul Islam and Md. Mozammel Haque Khan, senior officials of the Commission including Secretary Muhammad Dilwar Bakht were present.
Speaking to media persons present at the inauguration ceremony, the ACC chairman said, “By launching this day care center, our women officers will be able to perform their duties more confidently.” Women are not just keeping their children at home anymore, but they are working at various levels of government and non-government. There are many female officers in the ACC. There are also many male officers whose wives are employed. The upbringing of their children is a cause for concern. The Commission has taken into account their concerns. This day care center is being launched to further improve the work environment of the Commission. It is imperative to ensure a woman-friendly work environment in every public-private office. It is difficult to ensure sustainable development unless half the population of the country is involved in development. ”
Iqbal Mahmood expressed hope that the government and non-governmental organizations will also be more active in creating a women-friendly environment. She said, “The women officers and staffs who have been working with the ACC are performing very strongly. They are also proficient in arrests, anti-corruption operations. They have a strong mindset in combating corruption. I firmly believe that the quality and quantity of their work will increase as they make arrangements to keep their children safe. Children will be able to play here and be happy to learn something. ‘
