The education minister is coming to the press conference. The coronavirus situation has created concern among parents about students ’academic careers. Two levels of public examination have already been canceled. HSC exams have also been postponed. Education Minister Dipu Moni has decided to hold a press conference on these issues. The education minister will hold a press conference at noon on Wednesday (September 30), the ministry’s public relations officer Mohammad Abul Khair said.

An official of the ministry said that an announcement may be made at the press conference whether the leave of the educational institution will be extended or not. Besides, the education minister will also talk about the postponed HSC exams.

HSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to start on April 01, but have been postponed due to coronavirus infection. Students and parents are worried about this exam as the year is almost over.

Due to the corona epidemic, the final exams of the fifth and eighth classes are not being held this year. The students of these classes are to be promoted in the upper class by evaluating them in the educational institution. However, with four conditions, the government has allowed English medium students to take the O and A levels at the British Council in October and November.

In this case, the hygiene rules of the health department and the guidelines of the World Health Organization should be strictly followed. A maximum of 1,800 candidates can be attend every day at 35 venues across the country and each student has to sit at a distance of at least six feet.

The Ministry of Education has said that the British Council will have to bear the responsibility if any candidate is infected with Covid-19 during the examination. At any time, the government may revoke the permission to take the exam in the ‘public interest’ considering the situation.
