Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anjana Khan Majlish summoned District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) Sahab Uddin for embezzling funds for the construction of Chandpur Shishu Kalyan Primary School and providing false information.
Copies of the show cause were sent to the Director General of the Department of Primary Education, the Director of the Child Welfare Trust of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Chittagong Divisional Deputy Director.
Sahab Uddin was requested to send the bill voucher to the trust office by April 30 to complete the construction and repair work of the Shishukalyan Primary School building.
In that context, although a letter was given to Sahab Uddin on January 27, he was again urged to submit the bill voucher on May 11 as he did not submit the bill voucher.
DPEO Sahab Uddin told, “I have been given a letter by the Deputy Commissioner and I have also sent reply. The allegations of negligence, embezzlement and lying are not true.”
He added that a 7-member committee would be formed from the district primary education office. The deputy commissioner will fix 2 of them. The information of those who are actually involved in corruption will come out.
