The Prime Minister suggest to avoid public gathering.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed all to avoid public meetings to prevent coronavirus infection.Prime Minister gave the directive at a cabinet meeting on Monday, the Health Services Secretary Asadul Islam said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office. After the meeting, the secretary of the health care department said this at a press briefing at the secretariat. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam was present on the occasion.
The Health Department’s Pathology, Disease Control and Research Institute (IEDCR) said at a press conference yesterday that three patients with coronavirus have been identified in Bangladesh. One of the victims is a woman and two men. Two of them are Italian. They are between the ages of 20 to 35 years.
Asked if the Prime Minister had given any direction in the cabinet meeting in the wake of the detection of coronavirus, the Cabinet Secretary said, “There is a meeting at 9 pm today. There was a long meeting of the Joint Committee yesterday. A decision has been given to the implementation committee to celebrate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They will meet at 4 pm and tell you the details. ‘
Then the secretary of the health care department said, “The Prime Minister must have given direction. We have been preparing for coronavirus outbreak in China. The Prime Minister’s directive is that since it is a contagious disease, three levels of action have been taken under the direction of the Prime Minister. In order not to come, he has taken the first step. How can I control the infection if it comes? The third level is how we will manage if there is an outbreak. ‘
He said, “We request you through us that we do not panic. It’s a virus. We have nothing to fear. It must be touched. ‘
The Secretary of the Healthcare Department added, “The protocol has been arranged accordingly. Quarantine has been arranged, treatment has been arranged. The only directive is that we avoid big gearing, as much as possible. That is the instruction. ‘
“The nature of the virus needs to be known,” said the secretary of the health care department, who was not identified at the airport. If the virus is present, there will be no fever, seizures or symptoms immediately. It may not show up to 14 days. When he came to the country there were no symptoms. There is no system to detect it. ‘
The secretary said, “The fever will not be detected in the scanning, even if a blood test is done, the report will come out negative. So anyone can come. We have arranged that they (overseas travelers) have been given a locator form. There it will be written how he will stay. If any symptoms occur he will contact. Based on this, we do mobile tracking, which country is real and where. They also contacted the hotline that my fever was coming, coughing. So we tested like 100 people. The bodies of two foreigners have been caught.
On the issue of whether the education system should be closed, the Health Secretary said, “There is no logic and basis for spreading fear in this way.”
The cabinet secretary said, “The education minister was also in the meeting yesterday. The Allreddy Ministry of Education has been instructed. So that they look after these things. Takes appropriate action. ‘
