10 fishermen arrested in Haimchar. In Chandpur’s Haimchar upazila, the navy police have arrested 10 jails for violating the ban on the Meghna river and catching jatka.
Haimchar Nilkamal Naval Police arrested them on Thursday, April 22 in the morning while they were killing Jatka from the Meghna River Sanctuary.
The arrested fishermen are: Nazrul (28), Jahangir Hossain (21), Delwar Hossain (24), Shahjahan (45), Rony Sarkar (20), Md. Hazrat Ali (21), Md. Salauddin (25), Quddus Ali (20), Abdul Aziz (20), Billal Hossain (28).
Nilkamal police outpost in charge a. Jalil said they were detained in regular raids. At that time, 10,000 meters of banned current net and 1 fishing engine driven boat were seized from the fishermen. Regular cases will be filed against them at Haimchar police station.
