5 arrested including one thousand pieces of yaba in Cumilla. District Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested five people, including one thousand pieces of yaba, in Muradnagar, Cumilla. They were arrested from Amin Nagar in Ramchandrapur area of Muradnagar upazila.
The arrested are Khabir Hossain, 35, son of late Mokhlesur Rahman of Brahman Chapitla village in Ramchandrapur union of the upazila, Warish Sarkar, 32, son of Zahur Miah of Brahman Chapitla village, Anwar Hossain, 26, son of late Sultan Miah of Kaiya Pathar village and Shariful Islam of Shahgada village. Niaz Mohammad Sharif alias Farhad (45) and Fakhar Uddin (22) son of Abul Kalam Azad of Shahpur village in Nabinagar of Brahmbaria.
Police said there were at least 8 cases against Khabir Hossain.
Muradnagar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Mir Abidur Rahman said District Detective Branch (DB) Sub-Inspector (SI) Saidur Rahman raided Amin Nagar in Ramchandrapur under Muradnagar Upazila’s Bangra Bazar police station on Friday, May 21 in the evening on the basis of secret information.
Five drug dealers were arrested along with one thousand pieces of yaba. They have been running yaba business in the area for a long time.
Bangara Bazar Police Station OC Kamruzzaman Talukder said they were sent to jail through a court on Saturday, May 22 after a case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
