50 lakh doses of vaccine reached in Dhaka

First consignment of 50 lakh corona doses of vaccines has arrived in the country under the agreement with the Seram Institute of India.The vaccines arrived in the capital Dhaka on a special Air India flight at 11 am on Monday.

Each carton contains 12,000 doses of vaccine in 1,200 vials.Beximco authorities will first test these. 50 lakh doses vaccines consignments will be kept at Beximco Warehouse.

Meanwhile, the five hospitals in Dhaka where vaccination activities will start on Wednesday, have already started preparations.

Earlier, Beximco Managing Director Nazmul Hasan Papon said that after receiving the first consignment of vaccines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, it would be kept in Beximco’s warehouse. These vaccines will be taken directly at Beximco’s own warehouse in Tongi.
