140th birth anniversary of Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani

140th birth anniversary of the oppressed public leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani today. Bhasani was born on 12 December 1880 in the village of Dhangara in Sirajganj. Various programs have been taken by various organizations on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Wreaths will be laid at Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology on Saturday morning and wreaths will be laid at Bhasani’s grave.

Besides, a seminar titled ‘Maulana Bhasani and the Politics of Our Time’ has been organized at 3:30 pm in the auditorium of Gonoswasthya Kendra Hospital (6th floor, Dhanmondi, Dhaka) at the initiative of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Rashtra Chinta and Gana Sanghati Andolan.

Although Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani was born in Sirajganj, he spent most of his life in Tangail.

Throughout his life, Bhasani has struggled for the welfare of ordinary hardworking people. He was the founding president of the two most influential political parties in the country, the Awami Muslim League and the National Awami Party (NAP).
