Afghanistan car bomb kills 30 security forces

Afghanistan car bomb kills 30 security forces. A car bomb has exploded in Afghanistan, killing at least 30 members of the Afghan security forces. The death toll could rise further due to the intensity of the blast, officials said.

The attack took place on Sunday (November 29th) in the central province of Ghazni.

Baj Mohammad Hemat, director of Ghazni’s provincial hospital, said 30 bodies had been recovered so far.

Another 24 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

“The dead are all security personnel,” he said.

Local officials said the attack was targeted an Afghan security force base in the area. It has caused extensive damage to civilian dwellings in the vicinity of the complex. More casualties may come from there.

Meanwhile, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan confirmed that it was a car bomb.

There have been a number of car bombings in Afghanistan over the past few months as the government continues peace talks with the insurgent Taliban.

However, various countries and organizations have called for an immediate ceasefire between the Afghan government and the Taliban to end the ongoing violence.
