TK. 77 crore disbursement for agricultural loan and poverty alleviation in Chandpur

According to a source in the District Agriculture Loan Committee, the state-owned banks in 8 upazilas of Chandpur have disbursed Tk. 77 crore in agricultural loans and poverty alleviation in the four months of July-October 2021-22.

The distribution rate is 24% of government allocation and 17% of private.

Of this, the distribution in state-owned banks was Tk. 62 crores 89 lakh 22 thousand, and the distribution in 24 private banks in the district was Tk. 14 crores 5 lakh 98 lakh.

According to a monthly report of the banks, the allocation for those banks in the fiscal year 2021-22 was Tk. 343 crores 86 lakh 61 thousand.

According to the Regional Office of the concerned bank, Sonali Bank has disbursed agricultural loan and poverty alleviation of Tk. 1 crore 98 lakh 17 thousand in 4 months through 20 branches.

3 crore 5 lakh 48 thousand taka through 21 branches in Agrani Bank, 1 crore 17 lakh 96 thousand taka through 15 branches in Janata Bank, 48 crores 85 lakh 58 thousand taka through 28 branches in Krishi Bank in Bangladesh.

5 crore 70 lakh 70 thousand taka through 4 branches in Karmasangsthan Bank, 2 crore 10 lakh 33 thousand taka through 13 branches of Rupali Bank.

14 crore 5 lakh 76 thousand taka distributed by 24 private banks.

On the other hand, in those bank branches, in the fiscal year 2022-22, till July-October, it has collected 56 crores 4 lakh 93 thousand taka including arrears from various customer rates.

Besides, Tk. 516 crores 32 lakh is due in agriculture, poverty alleviation, and other sectors of the district. The amount of expired loans in the banks is 66 crore 45 lakh 12 thousand taka.

A bank official of Agrani Bank said, “Agrani Bank is in constant touch with its customers to collect various categories of loans. As the bank officials are collecting the loan, they are also giving the loan immediately.”
