In Chandpur 12 arrested gamblers sent to jail

In Chandpur Police have arrested 12 gamblers while they were gambling. The arrested gamblers were sent to jail on Thursday, May 27 in the afternoon.

The arrested are: Iqbal Hossain Mizi (32) of Chayal Bari on Swarnakhola Road, Kaushar Alam (30) of Bishnudi Mollah Bari, Alamgir Patwary (42) of Taltola Patwari Bari, Iqbal Hossain (50) of the same area and Amin Patwari, General Secretary of 9th Ward Juba League (33), Nurul Amin (32) of Professor Para area, Mosharraf Hossain (51) of Nazirpara Gazi Bari, Md. Mainuddin (42) of Mominpara Khan Bari, Md. Jasim Uddin (40) of Sardar Bari of Tarpurchandi Union, Kamal Hossain (42) of Kachua Thana Juba League Abul Bashar (35) of Brahman Sakhua village in Balia union of Sadar upazila and Mohammad Rashed (38) of Manikadi Paschimpar area of ​​Bhairab police station in Kishoreganj district.

Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station SI Nasir Uddin and his associates arrested them from the 2nd floor of Monir’s autorickshaw garage on Wednesday, May 26 in the afternoon.

According to local sources, gambler Jahangir and Jasim rented Monir’s house and autorickshaw garage about three months ago. Every day gamblers from different parts of the district come here to gamble. However, more people come to gamble at night than during the day. Apart from gambling, drug dealing and prostitution are also conducted there.

Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station OC Mohammad Abdur Rashid said 12 gamblers were arrested from the Swarnakhola area on the basis of secret information.
