Bangladeshi expatriates will not be allowed to enter Italy till December 31

Bangladeshi expatriate will not be allowed to enter Italy till December 31.

‘Bangladeshi people are responsible for this situation.Because they violated the quarantine rules of the Italian government’, told Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at the ministry on Monday.

The Foreign Minister feel sorrow due to the behavior of Bangladeshi expatriates staying in Italy at that time.

“There is no good news about the return of Italian expatriates,You know they didn’t obey Italian law”, he said.

He also said, ‘After 48 Bangladeshi left for Italy, the Italian authorities asked them to stay in a 14-day compulsory quarantine in a hotel on suspicion of corona disease.’

However, many of them did not maintain quarantine rules.

The Foreign Minister further said that the Italian government had asked 30,000 expatriate Bangladeshi’s living in Rome to undergo compulsory Covid-19 test. But, many Bangladeshi have fled the city to avoid corona test, which is very unfortunate.

“Everything is normal in the country, so now a lot of people are entering Italy,” Momen said.

However, they are worried about the previous behavior of the Bangladeshi expatriate and the fear of the second wave of Covid-19.

“I have tried to talk to the Italian authorities about this issue,” he said.

However, it did not work.

Referring to the Bangladeshi migrant workers going to Italy, the minister said it would be better if they protested in front of the Italian mission in Dhaka.

“If they protest in front of the Italian mission, they will be able to inform their country that the Bangladeshi’s want to return to Italy,” he added.

“What can we do without request, we can’t send them to Italy by force,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Italian Help Center, a platform for migrant workers heading to Italy, reported that the Italian ambassador to Bangladesh has agreed to talk on October 19 with a five-member delegation of Bangladeshi workers.
