Bus fire in the capital

Bus fire broke out at five places in the capital. On Thursday, November 12, between 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm, one bus caught fire in front of the Awami League’s central office on Motijheel, Press Club adjacent to Secretariat Junction, Bangabandhu Avenue and two in Shahbagh area.

Paltan Police Station (OC) Abu Bakkar Siddique said the fire broke out in Victor Classic vehicle was going to Sadarghat from Paltan in front of Gulistan Ramna Bhaban. The bus was carrying passengers.

Confirming the matter, Rozina Akhter, duty officer of the fire service headquarters, said that the fire service received the news of the fire in front of the central office of the Awami League at around 1.30 pm. Shortly afterwards, news came again that the bus had caught fire in Shahbag. Upon receiving the news, a unit was sent in front of Shahbagh Aziz Super Market at 1:38 am.

On the other hand, the fire service got the news of another bus fire at the Secretariat corner adjacent to the National Press Club. A fire service unit was dispatched there at 2:10 p.m., he said.

Rozina Akhter said the fire in front of the Awami League party office and in Shahbag had been completely extinguished. Attempts are being made to extinguish the fire of the bus at the press club. The cause of the fire, damage and casualties are not yet known.

Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station Mohammad Mamun ur Rashid said a fire broke out in a bus in front of Aziz Super Market. Police have been dispatched to the spot.

He added that a fire broke out in a Rojonigandha transport on Ghatarchar to Chattogram Road in front of the press club. However, no casualties were reported.
