Schedule for by-election of chairman-councilor in 5 upazila of Chandpur

Announcement of schedule for by-election of chairman-councilor in 5 upazilas of Chandpur.Matlab South Upazila Parishad Chairman of Chandpur District and Matlab North, Kachua, Hajiganj, Shahrasti Upazila’s 11 Union Parishad Chairman-Member vacant post by-election schedule has been announced.

By-election will be held for the posts of 1 Upazila Chairman, 5 UP Chairman and 7 Ward Members. Voting for these vacant posts will be held on October 20.

District Election Officer Mohammad Tofail Hossain confirmed the announcement of the schedule on Tuesday, September 15.

According to the announced schedule, the voting for the post of chairman will be held on October 20 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The last day for submission of nomination papers is September 23. Selection on 26 September and withdrawal on 03 October, symbol allotment on 04 October.

According to the District Election Office, the schedule of these elections was announced in a separate circular signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Election Commission Md. Atiyar Rahman on September 14.

Matlab South Upazila Parishad Chairman AHM Ghiyasuddin’s death left the post vacant.

Besides, the posts became vacant on the death of Sachar and Gohat North of Kachua, Zahirabad and Sultanabad of Matlab North and Meher South Union Parishad of Shahrasti.

On the other hand, Ward No. 7 of Kachua Gohat North Union, Ward No. 1 of Mohanpur Union of North, Ward No. 3 of Fatehpur West Union, Ward No. 1 of Islamabad Union, Ward No. 6 of Suchipara South Union of Shahrashti, Ward No. 7 of Chitoshi West Union and Ward No. 3 of North Kalonj of Chitoshi West Union and Hajiganj Will be held.
