Chandpur demands developments including EPZ from the Prime Minister

BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is coming to Chandpur . During the visit, he will inaugurate the re-excavation of two canals and the distribution of family cards.  Focusing on the Prime Minister’s visits, the people of Chandpur have demanded the establishment of an export processing zone (EPZ) in the district, the construction of a permanent and strong dam 60 kilometers along the Meghna bank, and the continuation of ongoing development work including the economic zone.

District BNP President and MP from Chandpur-3 constituency Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik raised these demands at a press briefing organized on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s arrival at the Chandpur Government College campus on Friday afternoon.  Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik said  the press briefing, “It is possible to create an EPZ on 200 to 250 acres of land in Chandpur. Our strong demand ‘ll be that the Prime Minister ‘ ll implement it for us. If this is successful, employment will be created for at least 1.5 lakh people in the district. In addition, the surrounding districts including Chandpur will be economically more prosperous. 

He also said that some fascist people are spreading misleading information about the economic zone. For their information, I am telling you that the economic zone has been approved and its work will continue. Along with this, establishing an EPZ is also one of our main demands. Noon: Inauguration of the ‘Khordda Khal’ re-excavation program in Waruk area of ​​Shahrasti upazila. 1:45 pm: Inauguration of the ‘Bishwa Khal’ re-excavation program in Ghosherhat area of ​​Shahmahmudpur union of Chandpur Sadar upazila.  3:30 pm: Distribution of family cards at Chandpur Government College ground and speech to the people of Chandpur at the Sudhi rally. 5:30 pm: Exchange of views with local BNP leaders and activists at Chandpur Club.

Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik said, the Prime Minister is coming to Chandpur, which has excited the general public and party leaders and activists of the district. Everyone is eagerly waiting to hear her speech. This arrival of the Prime Minister is a historic day for us. Chandpur District Council Administrator and District BNP General Secretary Adv. Salim Ullah Selim, Chandpur Press Club President Sohel Rushdi, General Secretary MA Latif and journalists from national and local media were also present at the press briefing.
