Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated a program to plant 10 million saplings across the country on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She inaugurated the program by planting three saplings of tamarind, chatian and chalta species in the premises of Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister, on Thursday.
After that the tree planting program in Chandpur inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur Md. Majedur Rahman Khan. He inaugurated the tree planting program by planting tree saplings at the premises of Chandpur Deputy Commissioner’s Office at 11:30 am on Thursday.
Chandpur District Assistant Forest Conservator Md. Tajul Islam and some officers and employees of the district administration were present at the time.
A part from this, a similar tree planting program was inaugurated in all the upazilas of Chandpur. The self-appointed MP will be present through online, said a source in the forest department.
