A college student named Jisan (20) has committed suicide after rejecting a marriage proposal in Badarpur village of Narayanpur in Matlab South Upazila of Chandpur.
According to family sources, he committed suicide by hanging himself from the wall of his house at Thursday night.
His father’s name is Abu Kalam.
According to police and locals, Jisan, a class XII student of Nasir Court Shaheed Zia Smriti College, son of Abul Kalam, had a love affair with a ninth-grade class student. When the matter came to the notice of both the families, a few days ago, the boy’s side proposed to the girl’s house for marriage, but it was rejected.
Jisan committed suicide due to this incident.
Jisan’s mother Hosne Ara Begum said her son had a love affair with a girl. When we proposed for marriage, they rejected the marriage proposal with various excuses.
The girl’s mother admitted the truth of the incident and said that her daughter had been in a love affair with Jisan. The girl is studying in the ninth-grade class in a local Dakhil Madrasa. Jisan’s parents came home with a marriage proposal. But since my daughter is not an adult, I refused the marriage proposal.
The Officer-in-charge (OC) of Matlab South Police Station Mohiuddin Mia said an unnatural death case has been registered in this regard. The body was recovered and sent to Chandpur morgue for autopsy.
