An unidentified person died while boarding moving train in Chandpur

An unidentified person died while boarding a moving train in Chandpur.An unidentified person died after falling under a moving train in Chandpur. The accident took place at Chandpur railway station around 10 pm on Monday. His approximate age would be (55).

Witnesses said the intercity Meghna Express, which left from Chattogram at around 9.45 pm on Monday, stopped at Chandpur railway station. As the passengers got off and left, he saw the unidentified old man running and trying to get into the train carriage.

Leaving the train, he inadvertently stuck his lungi on the foot of the train. His legs were amputated and he was injured in different parts of the body.

Witnesses later rescued him and took him to Chandpur Government General Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

However, no name of the deceased has been found so far. Many speculate that he was a laborer who may have been killed in the accident while returning home from work.

Chandpur Railway Police Officer-in-Charge Murad Ullah Bahar told the ‘Chandpur Times’, “We have prepared an inquest and sent the body to the morgue for postmortem. There has been an unnatural death case. However, his identity has not been identified yet.”
