Distribution of calves among ethnic group in Chandpur

Distribution of calves among 10 families of small ethnic groups in Chandpur. In order to improve the socio-economic and quality of life of the small ethnic groups living in the plains in Chandpur Sadar Upazila, improved breeds of crossbred calves have been distributed among 10 families under the ‘Integrated Livestock Development Project’.

At the initial stage of the project, 5 tins, 4 pillars, 190 bricks and calf feed were distributed to each family to build a Bakna calf and a barn.

Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan handed over the goods at the Chandpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Department premises at 10 am on Sunday.

Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Kaniz Fatema, Sadar Upazila Women Vice Chairman Abida Sultana, Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Mukbul Hossain, field worker of the project Amit Tripura and the coordinator of the socio-economic and livelihood development project of small ethnic groups Tanvir Hossain was present at the time.

The project is being implemented by Chandpur Upazila Livestock Department. Under the project, cattle and commodities will be distributed to improve the lives of 181 more families.
