Faridul Haque Khan took oath as state minister of religion

Jamalpur-2 MP Faridul Haque Khan took oath as state minister of religion.Tuesday (November 24) at 7 pm, President Abdul Hamid administered the oath to the new member of the cabinet.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Information Minister Hasan Mahmud were present on the occasion under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam.

Due to the coronavirus, the swearing-in ceremony was completed on a small scale at Bangabhaban.

Faridul Haque Khan will be issued a notification from the Cabinet Division through his office.

According to cabinet sources, he is being given the charge of state minister for religious affairs.

Earlier in the day, in a briefing at the Secretariat, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said of the new cabinet member, ‘Jamalpur’s Md. Faridul Haque Khan Dulal is being made the state minister of religion.He will be sworn in this evening.’

The ministry of religion has been without a minister since the death of state minister for religion Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah since June 13.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs is responsible for building a society with religious values ​​and morality, development of Hajj management, institutional development of religious institutions and organizations, celebration of religious festivals and medical services for the needy, grants and socio-economic development.

Faridul Haque Khan Dulal is an elected member of the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad from Jamalpur-2 constituency (Islampur) on the nomination of Bangladesh Awami League. He is the president of Islampur Upazila Awami League.

Faridul Haq Khan was born on 2 January 1956 in the village of North Sirajabad in Islampur upazila of the then Jamalpur district of East Pakistan. His father’s name is Md. Habibur Rahman Khan and mother’s name is Mosammat Fatema Khanam.
