Ferry service on Chandpur-Shariatpur waterway is normal now

The Chandpur-Shariatpur waterway was closed for five hours due to heavy fog on the Padma and Meghna rivers. After the fog cleared, the ferry service started at around 7:30 am on Tuesday, january 19.

Faisal Alam Chowdhury, ferry in-charge of Chandpur-Shariatpur waterway, confirmed the news.

Faisal Alam said the ferry service on the Chandpur-Shariatpur waterway was suspended from 2.30 pm on Monday due to heavy fog. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the ghat at that time. After the fog cleared, the ferry service resumed at around 7:30 am on Tuesday, january 19.

Faisal Alam said that five ferries ply on this route every day.
