ECNEC approves Tk. 524.37 crore for road development in Chandpur.Chandpur, Matlab The government has approved a mega project worth Tk 524.37 crore to improve the district highway by preparing and simplifying the Srirayarchar-Dhaka road. As a result, the road distance between Dhaka and Chandpur will be reduced to about 72 km. The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
A project in this regard was approved at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday, August 18.
The project will cost Tk 524.37 crore including upgrading of Daudkandi-Goalmari-Sri-rayerchar (Cumilla) -Matlab North (Chhengarchar) district highway to proper standard and width. The project is scheduled to be implemented from July this year to June 2023. The approval was given under the chairmanship of ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In this way, the surrounding districts including Chandpur will get the benefit of this road.
