73rd founding anniversary of BCL today

Today is the 73rd founding anniversary of Chhatra League.Today is the 63rd founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League. The organization entered its 74th year of glory, tradition and struggle. The organization was established on 4 January 1948 by the hand of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Under his leadership, the journey of Fazlul Haque Hall of Dhaka University officially started on that day.

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the glory, tradition, struggle and success of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the largest and oldest student organization of the subcontinent, the central leaders of the organization have sent greetings and congratulations to all.

The Central Parliament has taken a detailed program to celebrate the 73rd founding anniversary of the organization in a colorful manner.

On this occasion, national and party flags were hoisted at all the organizational offices including the central office of the organization around 6:30 am on Monday. Later in the morning, homage was paid to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The cake will be cut at Dhaka University Curzon Hall in the morning.

On the occasion of the founding anniversary, a discussion meeting has been organized at Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital at 3:30 pm. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the meeting via video conference as the chief guest.

Bangladesh Chhatra League, in its long political cycle, established this demand as a certificate of liberation through mass participation in the language movement of ’52, victory of United Front in the provincial assembly elections of ’54, anti-Ayub movement of ’58, education movement of ’62 He then played a leading role in freeing Bangabandhu from prison through the mass uprising of 1969, the absolute victory of the Awami League in the elections of 1970 and the victory of the red and green flag in subjugated Bengal by participating in the great liberation war of 1971.

After gaining great independence on 16 December 1971, Chhatra League under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took part in the reconstruction of war-torn Bangladesh. On 17 May 1981, Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina returned to the country and started a movement to re-establish the spirit of independence and restore democracy. Chhatra League played a unique role in the anti-authoritarian movement of the 90’s under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
