3 killed in separate incidents in Hajiganj

Three people were killed in separate incidents at Hajiganj in Chandpur. Among them, the hanging bodies of two women and a mentally unbalanced person were recovered in a road accident.

A housewife was hit by a CNG tanker on the Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, wife of Natehra Gazi Bari of West Barakul Union No. 7, Hajiganj Upazila.

The body was handed over to the family of the deceased on Tuesday morning from Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex.

Meanwhile, another woman died after being hit by a truck less than 24 hours later. On Tuesday evening, a woman named Mosammat Laili Begum (40) died in front of a toll booth near Randhunimura High School on Hajiganj-Ramganj road under Hajiganj municipality. She is the daughter of Abdur Rob of Hawladar Bari in Randhunimura village No. 10 under the municipality and wife of Abu Bakar of Natehra village in Barakul West Union of the upazila.

Witness Shamim said a truck coming from the south hit her while crossing the road in front of the old tollgate Randhunimura High School. She was hit in the head and fell on the side of the road.

On the same day, police recovered the hanging body of a mentally unbalanced person in Hajiganj. The body of a man named Mozammel Hossain (38) was recovered and brought to the police station on Tuesday afternoon. His village home is in Shahrashti upazila of the district.

The body of the man was recovered from the classroom of an abandoned building of Haripur Madhyapara Government Primary School in Gandharvyapur North Union No. 9 of Hajiganj Upazila.
