Helicopter carrying Indian military chief crashes

A military helicopter carrying India’s Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat has crashed. Five people on board the helicopter were killed and four others were injured.

Citing several sources, NDTV reported that 14 military officials, including India’s Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat, were on board the crashed helicopter. Among them were Bipin Rawat’s wife, defense assistant, security assistant, and Indian Air Force pilots.

According to media reports, the Indian Air Force’s Mi-17V5 model helicopter crashed in the Nilgiris shortly after taking off from a military base in the Sulur area of ​​Tamil Nadu.
