Truck-CNG collision in Kachua, killed 2

Two killed in truck-CNG collision in Kachua. Two people have been killed in a collision between a truck and a CNG-powered autorickshaw at Kachua in Chandpur. Ripon was seriously injured in the incident.

The accident took place at around 10:30 pm on Saturday, November 20 in the Khajuria area of ​​Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway in Kachua Upazila.

The deceased were identified as Sohail, a CNG driver from the Randhunimura area of ​​Hajiganj municipality, and Gokul Sarkar of Maishamura village in the same Upazila. Ripon, who was seriously injured in the incident, was rescued and sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital.

The driver of the truck fled leaving the truck immediately after the incident. In this incident, the agitated crowd stopped the traffic on the road for about an hour. Later, the police came to the spot and normalized the traffic.

According to locals, a truck heading towards Cumilla and a CNG autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction collided head-on at around 10:30 pm on Saturday. The autorickshaw twisted and one of the passengers including the driver died on the spot.

Kachua police officer in charge Mohiuddin confirmed the matter. He said two people were killed on the spot in the accident. Their bodies have been recovered. Although the road was closed for some time due to the accident, the police went to the spot and made arrangements for the traffic and the truck was seized.
